barter.li is an app for book lovers. Remember those cartons full of books you have lying on the book-shelves, in the garage and cupboards? You can simply upload your books by scanning the barcode at the back of the book or manually entering the book title.
Security and privacy: We never share your actual location with others. Only your profile pic, name and about me is shared with others. You get to see the book owner's profile, chat with them and meet only at a preferred public location e.g. a cafe.
We at barter.li are motivated by a desire to bring a billion books back into circulation which otherwise just adorn bookshelves. We want to create a sense of community, promote literacy and the love of reading by creating a free book exchange which is for the people and by the people.

How we use the App permissions
1. android.permission.CAMERA - To scan ISBN barcodes and facilitate fetching book info easily
2. android.permission.INTERNET, android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE - To use the internet connection for communicating with barter.li servers
3. android.permission.ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION, android.permission.ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION - To fetch the location so we can show you books nearby.
4. android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE - For caching images locally so that we don't need to fetch them from internet continuously
5. android.permission.GET_ACCOUNTS, android.permission.USE_CREDENTIALS - To allow easy sign in with accounts already present on the device
