A new way to train, memorize and improve trumpet fingerings.
The “Trumpet Fingering Trainer” application is an efficient way to train the standard and alternative trumpet fingerings by heart.
In the first phase, the application randomly displays notes in the range defined by the user. Those notes have to be pressed and hold correctly on the touch-screen for the configured time interval. In case of an error, the application advises the user with the correct fingering that has to be confirmed, to continue the training.
After all notes in the range have been trained twice the application switches its internal behavior.
Notes that were previously pressed incorrectly are now trained more often. In an efficient way, those weakly memorized fingerings are now consolidated. This app does not substitute the training on the real trumpet. It should be considered as an alternative way of training. Knowing the correct fingerings by heart is essential to any good trumpet player. Currently I don´t know any other technique that provides instant feedback and allows you to memorize fingerings by heart more quickly than this app.
The demo version of the “Trumpet Fingering Trainer” application has the following restrictions:
+ fix signature key
+ a restricted note range
Features of the full version:
+ train the 12 signatures of the chromatic scale (major and minor keys)
+ statistics views for detailed analyzis. (for each note the "hit ratio" and the "average response delay" is provided)
+ user defined note range selection from F#3 to G6
+ user defined fingering response time. The time can be configured in steps of 0,05 seconds from 10 seconds (for beginners) up to 0,25 seconds.
+ Ability to switch on/off the display of note name, standard fingering, alternative fingerings
It should be noted that this app will be useful for any valve instrument, for example cornet, tenor horn, as well as pitch, e.g. Bb, Eb, C, D.
New in Release 2.0:
During the fingering training the app analyzes the fingerings and creates corresponding statitics. These statistics are used by the app to focus the learing on wrong or weak memorized fingerings. The gathered statistic data like the "hit ratio" or the "average response delay" for each note is provided in statistic views for further investigations. And of cause can be used to measure the progress in learning with this app.
