The world is quite literally falling apart. Nations have all but become extinct, islands have crumpled into the ocean depths, defeated. The lands that still cling to life are occupied by the lonely, the brave, the few who fight to defend that last of what is theirs. And then there is you...

This bleak landscape is a terror. Gas masks are required in most regions to avoid the decaying stench of garbage and rotting flesh. There is no more beauty. The trees have all but withered away, taking with them the life-giving oxygen they once so willingly gave. The beaches are a dump heap of black sand, piled high with trash and the makeshift homes of those brave enough to live its coastline. You however much prefer the deserted regions, although it comes at a cost, given the supply of rations is far and few in between, but the solitude is refreshing considering the city blocks is driven by the hungry and afflicted, at war with themselves and anyone who dared challenge their desperate means for the bare necessities.

Amid these rocky desert lands where you wander like the nomad you are, you are awakened by a presence. Ready to fight, you rush this intruder, but the stranger is unharmed by your attack. Having grown up in these unforgiving lands, you are not about to give up and let this force take over your grounds.. or worse. You storm it again, punching, swinging, shooing, but still this figure does not fall. Finally, when you are winded and your energy is spent and you crumple to the desert sands, the figure speaks.

The figure is not a person, but a hologram, thus why you cannot defeat it. You soon learn the figure is a modern day scientist-- one of the last few inhabitants of this world with a life that boasts any luxuries. However, even their small wealth and fame is fading, fleeting fast and this scientist is here to tell you he has used the last of his wealth and influence to manufacture a machine that will allow one person to travel back in time and destroy a band of aliens who mark the beginning of this apocalyptic age. He has been watching you, and you mark the last True Fighter, the one who has the ability to alter fates and save the universe.
